Job Summary |
Responsible for the calibration, verification, and certification of instruments and measurement equipment to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance with international standards including ISO/IEC 17025.
The role spans both laboratory and field calibration environments across process industries.
Job Description and Responsibilities |
- Perform calibration, verification, and certification of pressure, temperature, flow, electrical, and dimensional instruments.
- Maintain calibration records, uncertainty calculations, traceability documentation, and calibration certificates.
- Operate calibration equipment including dry blocks, pressure calibrators, multimeters, decade boxes, and reference standards.
- Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and initiate corrective action requests as required.
- Support internal and external quality audits by providing calibration records and evidence of compliance.
- Manage calibration schedules and ensure instruments are recalled and re-calibrated on time.
- Label and tag instruments with calibration status stickers following each calibration activity.
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to schedule calibration without disrupting plant activities.
Basic Qualifications |
- Diploma or degree in Instrumentation, Metrology, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in instrument calibration in an industrial or laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and calibration traceability principles.
- Experience with calibration management software or CMMS systems is preferred.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES |
- Strong knowledge of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty, and traceability requirements.
- Proficiency with calibration tools including dry blocks, pressure calibrators, and precision multimeters.
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and applicable QA/QC standards.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to identify instrument deviations and escalate appropriately.
